A combinatorial description of homotopy groups of spheres

Abstract:

The talk is about group theoretical description of homotopy groups of spheres. For every n>k>2, we construct a group G by explicit generators and relators such that the center of G is isomorphic to the n-th homotopy group of the k-dimensional sphere.
